Conference Call

In most offices, the conference room serves as home field for a wide range of business activities.  Planning, presenting, birthday parties and brainstorming sessions, the conference room is a meeting space where your team comes together.  Get the best out of your players and refer to the guidelines listed below.

1.    GET A GRIP

Use a door and door hardware that is different from, but complimentary, to the rest of the office design.  It makes a first and long lasting impression.  I assure you.

2.    GO WIDE

If you need a large conference table (one that seats more than 12), remember to go wide in the middle.  A large conference table should have a subtle boat shape.  If it doesn’t, it’s difficult to see people who are seated along your side of the table.

3.   POWER TRIP

Now that you’ve got them where you want them, keep them there with some help from Davis Furniture.  No one needs to leave the meeting room because their technology tanked.  These tables have built-in power strips that are both functional and highly attractive.

4.    SIT A SPELL

Marathon meetings are not uncommon.  The conference room should be comfortable and conducive to interaction between the team members.  The best way to accomplish this is to pick the right chair.  A mid-back, instead of a high-back chair executive chair is a good choice.  It helps keep the egos in check.  Seriously.

5.     SOUND OFF

It happens.  That’s why you frequently see acoustical panels mounted on the walls and ceiling of a conference room.  Want to  ensure that what happens in the conference room, stays in the conference room?  Remember this tip.

6.     LIGHT BRIGHT

Nothing is more distracting than light glaring in your eyes.  Forget  about the view, you want your team to focus on what is happening in the room.  Treat the windows  so adjustments can be made to the natural lighting.  This is especially important if the space will be used for videoconferencing.

If you want your people to bring their best game to the table, simply follow these rules.  IT’S YOUR CALL.
